PERSONAL details of up to 1,700 Plymouth children may have been released online after hackers attacked a web page.

Plymouth City Council says a third-party site allowing youngsters to sign up for Summer Mix, a programme of free activities across the city, was broken into and details of those who signed up “may have been accessed”.

There were 1,700 subscribers, 1,400 of whom had their e-mail addresses and passwords stolen and later found in a file on a security research website, among 5.2million from around the world.
